Organizer: Peter Moore (pmoor093@gmail.com)

Activity Type: Rock Climbing

Difficulty Rating: Beginner & Intermediate

Prerequisites / Courses Required: Know how to top rope and lead belay.

Itinerary: Come out and learn some basics about systems, equipment, and tips and tricks for multi-pitch climbing.

This is great for:

  1. Those transitioning from gym climbing to outdoor climbing who are interested in jumping on some bigger, longer climbs one day,

  2. For anyone who is an experienced outdoor climber and hasn’t yet taken the plunge into multi-pitch climbing,

  3. Anyone who has some multi-pitch climbing under their belt but is interested in a bit of review.

Goal: You’re ready to crush on the next GMMC multi-pitch trip that comes up in your desired difficulty range.

You’ll need to bring a climbing harness, belay device (preferably one with ‘guide mode’ but if you don’t have one quite yet no problem at all), a helmet, and some stoke to learn!

We’ll be meeting up in the river valley in a spot where we can build some tree anchors to do some hands-on learning. Exact location will be shared with the group closer to the date.

Required items to bring: Harness, helmet, belay devices and carabiner
