Let's help keep this beautiful area looking its best! And climb a bunch of rock while we're at it!

Every year a dedicated group of local stewards organizes a garbage cleanup in the David Thompson Corridor area (around Abraham Lake). This area is beautiful. Lets help keep it that way by giving a bit of our time to help with the clean up. Its always a good time - a great place to meet fellow outdoor adventurers and there are a ton of sweet prizes for participants!

We'll meetup at the cleanup at the Pinto Lake Staging area just before the cleanup starts.

After the event, we'll head to one of the sweet climbing spots in the area. And we'll climb all morning and early afternoon on Sunday too!

Crags will depend on group size, weather and participant interest. Also an option to split into smaller groups if there is varied interests. But may include:

-Darkside

-Kootenay Bluffs

-Abraham Slabs

-Little Russia

-Shakakan

-Hidden Quartzite

Difficulty Rating: Beginner, Intermediate, Difficult

Prerequisites / Courses Required:

-must know how to safely top rope belay

Required items to bring: 

-helmet

-climbing harness

-climbing shoes

-belay device and climbing carabiner

Accomodations

GROUP CAMPING - there are numerous free camping spots in the area. We will coordinate to secure a shared camp spot large enough to accomodate all those wishing to camp together. Social campfire and weenie roasts in the evenings!

ANYWHERE ELSE YOU LIKE! Camping with the group is not mandatory. If you'd prefer to camp away from the group or stay in a nearby hotel or hostel, totally fine! Meetup times and locations will be shared for each day.

As per club guidelines, participants are responsible for arranging their own accommodations and transportation.
