Itinerary: We all just dropped a cool $35 on that new David Thompson Guide Book… now let's put it to good use! 

This is an all abilities level trip. We will aim for crags with a range of grades.

The Plan…

Friday, June 24th: Head down to David Thompson area and free camp at the Abraham Slabs Area. Cory will try to arrive as early as possible to secure a spot big enough for everyone who is camping. You are of course free to set up your own accommodations elsewhere or even drive up Saturday AM… but camping is fun and it is always a good time hanging out as a group!

Saturday, June 25th: Meet at the Abraham Slabs Camping spot along the David Thompson Highway at 9am. The plan is to head up to Abraham Slabs and climb for the day.

Sunday, June 26th: Meet at the approach for Dark Side at 9am. Climb for the day and probably stop for pie at the Miner Cafe in Nordegg before heading home.

This is the general plan as of now, but may change based on conditions.

Prerequisites / Courses Required: Need to be able to safely top rope belay. If I haven't met you, please contact me with the gym you have your belay check with.

Required items to bring: Climbing Harness, Helmet, Belay Device, Shoes, Water, Snacks, and any other climbing gear you wish to bring. As per club guidelines, participants are responsible for arranging their own accommodations (if you are not free camping with us at Abraham Slabs) and transportation. Please note you are responsible for all your own camping gear and meals for the weekend.
