Difficulty Rating: Beginner day hike. 10.3 km loop trail, takes average 4 hours to complete. I am planning for 5-6 hours.
Itinerary: Arrive Friday, June 3 evening or Saturday morning. Hike Saturday, June 4 & return Sunday, June 5, 2022 after a short hike in the area.
Where: near Hinton. 10.3 km loop trail, takes average 4 hours to complete. I am planning for 5-6 hours as we won't be rushing and we will take a long lunch break at the top to enjoy the amazing views.

Participants can stay at the Jasper Gates RV campground (Jasper Gates Resort & RV | Just Minutes from Jasper National Park. Book your stay today.) or in a hotel. You can join us for one day only or two, depending on your schedule.
We will meet at the Jasper Gates Resort & RV Campground at 10:00 am (main parking lot by the office) and start the hike after a short drive to the Black Cat Ranch.
Trail #18 will take us to the top. We will return back by taking trail # 9 which is easier and not as steep.

Who: Beginner and intermediate hikers are welcome - an opportunity for hikers of various levels to start the season and enjoy new area close to Hinton. Let's start the season by trying something new and warm up slowly for Summer Adventures!
We can plan Saturday or Sunday dinner in Hinton or at the Brewery at the Jasper Gates depending on the group preferences. Let's organize fire and some snacks after the hike at the campground for our group.

Required items to bring: Camping Gear if camping, Bear Spray, Hiking Gear, Hiking Poles, Boots, Spikes, Rain Gear, Laughter and lots of humor.
