Organizer: Jason Wang and Zac Walters

Activity Type: Rock Climbing
Difficulty Rating: Beginner, Intermediate
Trip Size: Depends on the number of belayers and lead climbers who can set up and clean anchors (please indicate in comments when you sign up if you can lead and/or top rope belay)

Itinerary:

  • Let's get in some early season climbing! This is weather-dependent and meant to connect to Shawn's May Long hiking trip where it makes sense – this is to make sure that climbers get some options!

  • Goal is to get as many people on rock as possible with:

    • Saturday: Cragging (9:30-10 ish, depending on weather)

    • Sunday: Cragging OR easy multi-pitch OR join Shawn's group for Folding Mountain hike OR go to another hike

    • Monday: Cragging or hike. If we are a smaller group, cragging w/ Shawn's group @ Shredder Reef

  • Possible Crags (with some beginner options listed):

    • Juno Wall (2x 5.8 and 2x 5.9)

    • Hidden Valley (2x 5.6, 5.7, 5.8, 5.9) (very likely goal)

    • Morro Bluffs (1x 5.7, 3x 5.8, 2x 5.9) + Morro Slabs (likely)

    • Rock Gardens (5.7, 5.7+, 5.8) (possibly not though)

    • Shredder Reef (lots 5.6 – 5.7)

    • Syncline (5.7 and above options; 4–5 pitches)
