New Covid-19 Event Requirements


Effective immediately the GMMC will be instituting the following event participation requirements in line with the Restriction Exemption Program in response to Alberta’s declared public state of emergency.

Member Requirements:

Members must provide one of the following:

1. (Recommended) Submit one time proof of Full Vaccination or Medical Exemption to covid@gmmc.ca, prior to participation in the next event. This option only needs to be completed once. Once submitted we will mark your member profile to indicate your status. For this option we will not accept partial vaccination documents. If you are partially vaccinated you may use option 2 until October 25th. Once you have completed your full vaccination, please send in your updated information.  This status will be viewable only by executive members and trip coordinators. Submitted proof of vaccination documents will be deleted immediately after verification is completed. 

* GMMC reserves the right to ask members for additional documentation as health orders and other factors change.

If you cannot or do not want to use option 1 you may alternatively:

2. Provide proof of Vaccination or Medical Exemption  to the trip coordinator prior to the start of trip,

3. Provide proof of a privately-paid negative rapid test result taken within 72 hours of start of trip, to the trip coordinator prior to start of the trip.

With options 2 and 3, your profile will NOT be updated and you will have to repeat these actions prior to the start of every event you attend.

Regardless of option chosen, members are still required to adhere to AHS health guidelines and all previous covid policies.

Trip coordinators will check government issued photo ID of any member they have not previously verified upon first meeting, prior to the start of the event to confirm member details match their provided online profile details to verify provided proof of vaccination or exemption matches the member's details.

What is acceptable proof of vaccination/Negative Test/Medical exemption:

Vaccination:

  • Valid paper or digital vaccine record that shows name, vaccine type and date of administration

  • As of November 15th, 2021 the enhanced record with the QR code will be the only valid form of proof of vaccination accepted.

Medical Exemption:

  • A valid medical exemption is the original or a copy of an original signed letter from a physician or nurse practitioner that includes:

    • Physician’s or nurse practitioner’s complete information, including:

      • name, phone number, contact information, professional registration number and signature

      • statement that there is a medical reason for not being fully vaccinated against COVID-19

      • duration that the exemption is valid

Proof of Negative Test:

  • The test result should be a written or printed copy that indicates the individual has tested negative for COVID-19 on a Health Canada approved rapid antigen, rapid PCR, or lab based PCR test approved by Health Canada or the lab accreditation body of jurisdiction.

    • Valid test results should be a written or printed copy that clearly outlines the type of test, time of sample collection, clear indication of a negative result, and laboratory that completed the test, if applicable.

    • Photos of a rapid test or result taken offsite is not sufficient.

    • A self-test completed offsite or self-produced documentation of a negative test result is not valid.

    • Do not bring completed self-tests or rapid tests to businesses due to communicable disease risk.

Non-compliance:

Any member that fails to meet the above requirements will be denied participation in events at their own expense and will not receive any refunds.

Submitting Fraudulent Information

Any individual who submits fraudulent Proof of Vaccination, fraudulent documentation supporting a medical exemption, a fraudulent COVID-19 test result or any other fraudulent or misleading information regarding the above mentioned requirements will be subject to removal from the club, with no refund of any registration fees in whole or in part.
