Organizers: Jenn Lumley and Cory Roffey

Activity Type: Ice Climbing

Difficulty Rating: Intermediate

Itinerary: It’s March and you have been crushing ice for almost a whole season!!! …time to dig a little DEEPER, level up and develop some skills on STEEPER ice.  We will be joined by a guide from Arise Mountain Guiding in Canmore (https://ariseguiding.com/)  who will lead the trip and provide instruction and flexible skill development on steeper ice.  It will be a great chance to build skills and gain wisdom in a small group setting (min. 4 people and max. 8). Instruction will be tailored to the interests of the group.

Sat, March 12: Meeting in the early morning at the trailhead (we do not want to get scooped)

  • Possible climbing areas:

    • Johnston’s Canyon

    • GBU

    • Green Monster

  • Climbs will be determined closer to the date (based on ice conditions, avalanche conditions, group composition, intel about other groups' objectives, etc).

Sun, March 13: TBD

  • There is the potential for a second day of cragging on our own without a guide, but what this day looks like and whether it is a go will be determined based on interest and skill level of the group

All participants will be added to the waitlist and then moved over to the participant list once they have paid the $150 fee to Arise Mountain Guiding due by February 26th. Spot is not guaranteed until payment has been received.
